I. The Flower

You have now come to a major evolutionary advancement of the plant kingdom. Review the main parts of the flower on the right.

In the diagram, parts of the male reproductive structures, or stamen, are labeled in green. There are six stamen in this flower.

The female reproductive structures are labeled in blue. The stigma, style and ovary make up the single pistil in this flower. Note that the ovary is not visible in the diagram, but is located in the center of the flower, at the base of the style.
