Objectives
When you have finished today's lab, you should be able to:
- Explain the sounds heard during a normal cardiac cycle and give their relationship to physical events in the heart.
- Explain what is meant by systolic and diastolic pressure and how these are interpreted.
- Define the major parts of the circulatory system.
- Identify the blood vessels highlighted in the text and state what part of the body they drain or supply.
- Identify the parts of the heart and pulmonary system.
- Trace the pattern of blood flow through the body in adult and fetal mammals, and explain the reasons for the differences in circulatory patterns.
